Chapel Hill – Sangiovese Rose
Sangiovese is a red Italian wine grape variety that derived its name from the Latin words, “sanguis Jovis”, which means “the blood of Jupiter”.
The winemaker of Chapel Hill chose Sangiovese for the Rose because of its charm and pleasing tannins. These are perfect to create a drier and more structured style of Rose.
Chapel Hill – Sangiovese Rose
During the growing season, pest attack as well as diseases was minimal and these are factors why grapes quickly obtained their best ripening level.
Harvesting of grapes was done two and four days apart to achieve complexity of varietal characters and textures.
During winemaking process, grapes were crushed, chilled and fermented on skin with 4-hour pressing to extract more flavors, color as well as chalky tannins.
The cautious winemaking process developed amazing tasting notes, which wine drinkers love about the Sangiovese Rose.
The aromas of rose petal and cranberries wrap this wine revealing the appealing flavors of juicy raspberries and redcurrants with a lingering, pomegranate finish.
The chosen dry style of Sangiovese Rose allows it to be enjoyed with different dishes.
