Chapel Hill – The Vicar Shiraz

Shiraz is an essential ingredient of The Vicar wine. It is a red wine grape variety grown and famous in South Australia.

Harvesting of grapes was early to mid of February 2008. The grapes were selected and fermented individually to guarantee that each variety integrates the unique quality of each site.

Fermentation on skin was done for exactly 8 days and the wine went through maturation for 20 months in 300 L hogsheads – 82% French and 18% American oaks.

Accuracy in winemaking process gave the Vicar Shiraz layers of mulberry, roasted fennel seeds and liquorice flavors combined with abstract savory texture.

The Vicar Shiraz wine is acknowledged as one of Chapel Hill’s flagship wines, which represents the winery’s commitment to region, variety and to intervention winemaking.
