Verdiso is referred to a white wine grape variety of Italy that finds its major origins in the province of Treviso in the Veneto wine region of the northeast Italy.

This white wine grape variety is considered as a permitted grape variety in the sparkling wines Doc of Prosecco that is located in the north of the city of Treviso along the famous Piave River of the region.

This grape variety is referred to a light-skinned variety of grape that is mainly used as a minor blending variety along with a number of other grape varieties, especially Glera grape variety, mostly for the preparation as well as the production of the sparkling wines of Prosecco in Conegliano-Valdobbiadene in Prosecco.

This grape as a blend helps to add aroma, acidity as well as complexity to the wines so prepared out of it.

This white wine grape variety is considered to be a productive variety of grape and the vines of this grape perform their best in the sunny as well as dry environments.

Origin

This white wine grape variety is said to have originated in the regions of north-eastern Italy. Also, the plantation and cultivation of this white wine grape variety are restricted till the regions of Italy only and therefore it is usually not seen in the other regions of the world.

Characteristics

The wines produced out of this white wine grape variety are mostly considered as very acidic in nature.
