Description
An elegant, interesting wine that will compliment an extending range of food from smoked to spicy. Straw-gold colour. Lively aromas of flowers, elegant spices and tropical fruits. A rich-textured Pinot Gris with captivating aromas of rose petal and Turkish delight with just a hint of sweetness on the finish. It drinks great as an Aperitif, pan fried fishes, fishcake, curry, pate, grilled goat cheese, games. Remy Gresser’s 10 hectare domaine is located in the Bas-Rhin, in the village of Andlau, between Strasbourg and Colmar. The area, at the foot of the Mont Saint-Odile, has long been renowned for the quality of its wines. Records show the domaine has existed since 1520, making it one of the oldest in Alsace. Today, Remy, a biodynamic wine grower, continues the family wine making tradition tending to his 35.5 acres with the aim of producing the highest quality wines. Remy believes the most important thing for a winemaker is to love their soil. He is convinced this separates those winemakers who follow profit and market forces, from authentic winemakers who remain faithful to a philosophy of respecting terroir, the environment and nature. The clone of Pinot gris grown in Italy is known as Pinot Grigio.
