Description
The whiskey has a star bright aroma of peaches, blackberries, caramel corn and toffee, which leads to a palate marked by burnt oak, red wine, cinnamon spice and dark and dried fruits. The finish is long and dry, with lasting notes of sweet tobacco, cornbread and baked apples. The Jeffersons Reserve Groth Reserve Cask Finish has first been aged in new American oak for six years. From there, it was finished in Groth Cabernet Sauvignon barrels for a further nine months. The nine months the Bourbon spends in these special barrels gives Jeffersons Groth Reserve Cask Finish Bourbon Whiskey its unique and robust characteristics. Groth is a well respected winery out of Californias Napa Valley, and its cabernet in particular, which is thus likely why those behind Jeffersons turned to them to get hold of the wine casks for this special release.”
