Pio Cesare has harvested grapes for their Moscato from a few select vineyards in the village of Treiso and Madonna di Como for over a hundred years. The vintage date is carefully chosen in order to get the maximum ripening of these grapes, as evident a beautiful rusty gold colour. Harvest usually begins in the last week of Ocotber. Soft pressing followed by slow fermentation at a low temperature and bottling commences in March. The Moscato d’Asti is a sweet wine, rich in fruit scents, soft and alluring. It is a clear, bright glossy gold yellow colour with a ripe fruit and acacia flower bouquet. On the palate, the wine is soft and sweet, but with a definite strength.
