Description
Traditional Belgian wits are filtered, thin and tart. They’re brewed with wheat, Curacao orange peel and coriander. The Curacao orange is sour, and it gives Belgian wits their tartness. This recipe was the starting point used for reference. The beer is orange-amber in colour with a cloudy appearance because it is unfiltered. Blue Moon has a more pronounced orange flavour than many other beers of the style, and also has a slightly sweet flavour. The grain bill for Blue Moon includes malted barley, white wheat, and oats. Blue Moon Brewing Company is all about Artfully Crafting beers to make them inviting and easy to enjoy, so they set about reinterpreting the Belgian wit to be smoother and more approachable. Unfiltered: For more depth of flavour, and a unique, cloudy appearance. Brewed with Oats: The oats give it a nice, creamy body, so it’s not too thin. Brewed with Valencia Orange Peel: Valencia orange peel gives Blue Moon Belgian White a subtle sweetness, so our beer isn’t tart. Overall profile: The flavour starts out crisp and tangy and ends creamy, finishing slowly with a residual coriander and orange spiciness – brought out even further when garnished with a slice of orange.
