Josmeyer – Riesling ‘Les Pierrets’ 2011 6x 75cl Bottles

Prestige selection wines are blended from Josmeyer’s most favoured vineyards in Wintzenheim, Turckheim and Wettolsheim. The grapes are hand-picked and carefully chosen from vines a minimum of 35 years old. From the French word pierre ( stone ) which reminds the minerality of Riesling, the pierrets or pierrots are small sparrows. Yellow with green tints. The nose has softened citrus characteristics, candied lemon, underpinned with mineral notes. The wine is concentrated and rich in the mouth, underpinned by minerality and salty notes. A good structure with a fine weight and core with richness balanced by acidity. The finish is fine and long, with lemon showing through on the aftertaste.
