Since 1715, the house of Martell has been inspired by the creative legacy of Jean Martell. Today, that spirit is embodied in Martell Creation Grand Extra, with its architectural design and select eauz-de-vie lengthily matured in Martell’s cellars, make it the perfect expression for individuals shaping their own legacies. A cognac both sophisticated and straight-forward, a true reflection of asserted personality of its eaux-de-vie carefully selected in the Creation cellar, where eaux-de-vie from 1900 are preserved. Marrying the fresh, fruity notes of eaux-de-vie from the Borderies with the nutty spicy notes of lengthily matured eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne. Colour: A deep topaz, amber, radiant with nice shining reflections. Nose: Primary notes evoking ginger bread and dry fruits, soon complimented by the refreshing aroma of orange marmalade, lemon zests and orange tree flower, culminating in a subtle finale of nice rancio notes, with a mix of walnut stain, curry paste and cedar wood. Taste: A soft and silky feeling releasing the mellowness of this first instant and reinforcing the smoothness of the sophisticated blending. This initial mellowness, is then intensified by an incredible length in mouth, bringing the flavours into full bloom. Serge Mansau is widely recognised as one of the most renowned and creative bottle designers within the luxury universe. He was instrumental inspiration to Martell Creation Grand Extra. Martell’s inspired and independent spirit called for a like-minded talented designer. Considered by some as marginal, rebel or creatively bulimic, he has created some of the most innovative and beautiful shapes of perfume bottles in the past 40 years.
