Feeling the Passion of the Accordini Wine Estate

A Little History of a Big Family

Gaetano Accordini and his wife Giuseppina Bertani, bought five acres of land in Negrar in Ca Bessole, a community in the province of Verona, Italy in the early years of the twentieth century. His son Stefano, produced Valpolicella wine for the local market and ran this business until 1970.

Tiziano was born in 1959 and then came Daniele in 1962 but by then the grapes were not of the best quality which made it difficult to produce high standard wines. Driven and determined this did not stop the Accordini family as their passion made it possible to continue forward.

Daniele studied Oenology sciences to ensure that their business would run into the future, replacing old technology with new by adding new installations into the vineyards as well as replacing the old barrels in the cellar with a modernised procedure for the production of their wines.

Their first bottle of Amarone Acinatico was produced in 1980 with the grapes from the Negrar vineyards and as it became more successful, the Accordini family had to buy some more land which they purchased in 1999, taking on another 10 acres in the hills of Fumane, a small community also in Verona, in the wine region Veneto.

Valpolicella Mountains was the inspiration for the production of their wines as they believed that the mountains majestic characteristics would produce excellent wine and so they began working on the soil and the choice of rootstock.
As they fell in love with the mountains the family decided to build a winery in 2008 where the fourth generation could work and continue on with the family passion.

It did not stop there as they bought yet another 5 acres to expand their dream alongside four generations of Accordini’s.
