Taylor’s Port Wine – Scion

Dated back in 1855, a special fortified wine was discovered by Taylor’s and produced from two casks before Phylloxera destroyed its vineyards.

This wine, aged 150 years was included in the eminent Douro family and was kept and taken care of in a wine lodge in Prezegueda in the Corgo Valley.

This wine had been passed down from one generation to another and some attempted to encourage the family to part with Scion, but they were not successful.

The wine’s core has deep mahogany, pale amber color and wrapped by heavenly and persuading aromas.

The rich fragrances of molasses and figs are covered with notes of roasted coffee, cigar leaf, black pepper and cedar incorporated with subtle nuttiness and distinct fine wood oak.

The rich, luscious and mellow flavors that wrap the palate intertwined with crisp and vibrant acidity, which made Scion a special port wine.
