Chapel Hill – McLaren Vale Sangiovese

Sangiovese, also called as Nielluccio, is a dark-berried vine which is recognized as the most widely planted grape variety in Italy.

This grape variety came from the Kangarilla Vineyard, which is found in the foothills of Mt. Lofty Ranges found in the eastern border of McLaren Vale.

Fermentation on skin takes place for ten days. After the process, ferments were wrenched into two, three and four year old French oak barrels for sixteen months for the encouragement of grainy varietal tannins.

Great tasting notes were developed after the winemaking process. The alluring aromas of violets, bay leaf and charcuterie are compromised by the flavors of dark cherries, tapenade and sage.

The aromas and flavors of McLaren Vale Sangiovese wine are balanced with chalky tannins as well as lingering and pleasing finish.
