Wines and Beers of Camden
Introducing Wines and Beers from Camden
Camden, which is originally called as Camden Town, is a district in the north-western part of London.
This, which is located at about 3.9 kilometres north of the famous Charing Cross, is mainly laid out as a residential district.
Previously, the economic base of the city was found to be the industrial sector. But now, the condition has changed!
The town’s major economy is relying on the retail, tourism, and entertainment. Yes, you read it right! This is a good place for planning a tour especially if you are a wine or a beer lover.
Now, let’s explore the wines and beers of Camden here…
Planning a Winery Tour in Camden
If you narrow down your to-do things in Camden, you will land upon the local wineries.
Here are two wineries that could relax and impress you.
Cellardoor Vineyard
Several tourists who are visiting Camden will choose to stop by this winery because of its best tasting wines.
We can see that this vineyard is located outside the city limits and therefore, it offers a great selection of wines that could impress the visitors.
This particular vineyard has a total of eighteen wines to choose from. As such, these wines are falling into the red, white, and even the dessert categories. So, once you are in Camden, don’t miss to book a visit to this vineyard.
Savage Oakes Vineyard and Winery
I would say this winery is for all the lovers of blueberries. I swear, once you are here, you are sure to taste some great wines.
It would just take you about a twenty-minute drive from Camden city. But once you are inside this winery, you will have the opportunity to taste the wines that are made by mixing blueberries and grapes together.
You can even see the process hands-on while on tour. Here again, the varietals can be red, white, and dry.
In addition, there are some signature wines. For producing these, they grow a range of finest red and white grape varieties here.
Brewing in Camden
Now, let’s turn to the beer side. As far as brewing is concerned, the Camden Town Brewery is the world-famous brewery based in Camden.
Camden Town Brewery
This was founded in the year 2010 by Jasper Cuppaidge. He was known to brew the first batch of beer in remembrance of his grandfather and named it Mac’s Beer.
Followed by this beer, the brewery’s second beer type called Hells Lager, which is a cross between Helles and Pilsner was debuted during Autumn 2010.
Now, the brewery is very popular with its all-year-round range including the following:
- Hells Lager
- Pale Ale
- Gentleman’s Wit
- Pils Lager
- Unfiltered Hells
- IHL Lager
- Ink Stout
Apart from these all-year-round varietals, the brewery also produces some occasional beer types like the following:
- Flue Faker Lager
- Inner City Green Lager
- Strawberry Hells Forever Lager
- Oktoberfest Lager
Of these, the Hells Lager has won various awards and is the people’s favourite even today.
Several beer lovers state that this is a clean and crisp beer that is made with traditional German ingredients. The alcohol is found to be 4.6% in this beer.
It’s to be noted that the brewery was producing even more varietals previously, that is, before being bought by the world’s largest brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev during December 2015.
You can even take a tour at this brewery. If you wish to do so, check the information given in the following link: http://www.camdentownbrewery.com/about/brewery-tours/.
